“I had begun drawings of this piece late in 2019 intending to create a hanging “Lunar” mandala composition. The original title within my drawing notations was “Lunar Phase”. However, by the time I began the detailed carvings, the Corona Virus was in full swing. I found myself carving rough or crude images of the virus within the composition, and the sculpture became a part of its point in time.” -Dale Enochs
