Yellow Bridge

“Yellow Bridge” has more color and more action than many of my works, but is still built by the push-pulling of space and form. Paintings like these are unique for me because I see the entire story emerge very quickly, which is not the usual outcome - Most of my paintings take time. But it's very helpful once in a while to have a work expand so quickly into existence. The ones [that] I make swiftly provide a breakthrough I need to continue working. Sometimes this new direction is strong and sometimes it’s subtle, but Yellow Bridge definitely gave this to me.
