Oval

Throughout his career Sam Gilliam would visit Tandem Press in Madison, Wisconsin to collaborate on editions and monoprints. Between 2007-2008, Gilliam created four (4) works dedicated to the Oval -- all very small editions (5 plus proofs) and all large-scale works (approximately 50 x 33). In 2007, he created Oval I and Oval II. In 2008 he created Oval and Shade (in which an oval is the basic geometric form). The work on offer here was a proof from Sam Gilliam's collection kept at Tandem. It was acquired by Long-Sharp Gallery, with Gilliam's permission, from Tandem Press.
