New works created by Robert Indiana (b. 1928) will be on exhibit at Long-Sharp Gallery (Indianapolis) from October 14 though November 12, 2016. Through over two dozen works - most created in the last eight years and some created as recently as this year - "Robert Indiana: More Than Words" explores how Robert Indiana's art speaks to the times. Of particular note are a pair of works titled "Shout For Peace" created in 2013, and a second pair of works created in partnership with Bob Dylan just this year. The opening for this exhibit will take place on October 14th from 7-9pm.
“Robert Indiana: More Than Words” will include paintings on canvas, unique works on paper, sculpture, works on aluminum and limited edition signed prints. The price point of works on offer will range from $8,000 to $200,000. This exhibit marks the artist's first solo gallery exhibit in Indianapolis this century. In the past five years alone, Indiana has had a retrospective at New York's Whitney Museum and a print retrospective at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. His works are in the permanent collections of top tier museums worldwide.
